More than a hundred years ago in England, the 4th Earl of Sandwich
had his servant put salted meat between 2 slices of bread so that he could easily eat food while gambling,
which later, became a famous food creation that has been called “sandwich” until nowadays.
More than a hundred years ago, an artist, Van Gogh, created a painting called “Starry Night”;
a musician “Beethoven” composed Symphony No.6;
and someone discovered a trench on Mars, giving rise to the Martian hypothesis.
And, more than a hundred years ago, there was an Italian who crossed the oceans to serve in the court of Siam.
He had designed and built several buildings, one of which is the 3-storey building
located near Tha Tian pier, which was originally used as the Office of the Ministry of Commerce.
One hundred years later, this building has become the “Museum Siam” as seen today.
