As an official unit under the Office of Knowledge Management and Development (OKMD), a Public Organization, the National Discovery Museum Institute (NDMI) plays a vital role in providing a manifestation of the historical and social aspects of Thai communities, local wisdom and beliefs, and ways of life, as well as exhibiting the arts and culture through innovative presentations that stimulate the pure pleasure of learning. Our key policies focus on disseminating these philosophies, ideas and bodies of knowledge in Thai society; this will empower a ‘lifelong learning society’, which will lead to sustainable development. Furthermore, NDMI has been unremittingly determined to expand in the Bangkok’s old city to serve as a site for museums that meet international standards. This can be made possible through the promise of establishing and developing a collaborative museum network, both locally and internationally. As an expected outcome, museums in Thailand will be elevated to achieve a higher level of standardization and quality, and to develop in sharing the pleasure of learning.
